Travel Restrictions and Screening • US started airport screening and traveler education on Jan 17 • Over 41,000 people screened • Individuals with recent travel history including Hubei Province are being quarantined for 14 days • Self-monitoring for 14 days for others • Travel advisory to China • Travel restrictions for foreign nationals recently in China as of Feb 2 6
Local Public Health Activities • Monitor situation. • Implement public health guidance from CDC and Oregon Health Authority. • Partner and coordinate with health care providers. • Assess risk. • Share clinical and infection prevention guidance. • Facilitate testing. • Provide education and outreach to returning travelers. • Facilitate evaluation if symptoms develop. • Conduct public health investigation and implement measures to minimize spread of infection, as with any communicable disease. 7
