GMPRG • GMPRG was one of a number of local revitalisation groups formed in Chiltern District back in 2003 . • This was done with the help and guidance of Chiltern District Council’s Community and Leisure team, to take advantage of funding available to community groups. • £340,000 of external funding has been provided for local projects.
GMPRG The group was set up as a forum for the consideration and implementation of revitalisation initiatives- for the benefit of the local community for- Community Transport Environment Economy
Community Consultation In 2005 GMPRG initiated a community project- ‘ The Community Vision ’ Consultation by local residents to understand what the community thought about- • Where they live? • What could be done to improve it? • What was needed?
Community Vision-CV4HP16 CV4HP16 projects - • The Source newspaper • Car Parking Working Party in Great Missenden • Library Working Party • Provided funding for local groups • Parish Village Design Statement
GMPRG- Concept for Prestwood Village Centre
What’s next for GMPRG? • Set up a new GMPRG team • From the Parish Village Design Statement – things still to be done. • Revisiting the Community Vision to prioritise projects- What projects do local people want?

Rogue Traders Thames Valley Police Chris Ging 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 34
Rogue Traders • Rogue Trader Week of Action: May 8 th • Thames Valley Police are attending various locations in Bucks to raise awareness of Rogue Trading scams • Many of the victims tend to be vulnerable and the elderly 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 35
Courier Fraud • Conman obtains personal details of the victim and makes contact by phone. • They pose as a Police Officer and tell the victim their account has been compromised • They persuade the victim to pass their bank details and even PIN over the telephone • A courier is sent to pick up their cards for forensic analysis 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 36
How it works… • The conman tells the victim to hang up and call 999 or the number on the back of their card • The victim hangs up, but the line remains open with the conman on the other end • When the victim redials, they are still speaking to the conman or an accomplice • What you can do: – Hang up the line and use a mobile – Hang up and call a friend first – Hang up the line and wait 5 minutes 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 37
Invoice Fraud • Can be targeted at anyone • A conman changes the bank details on a legitimate or expected invoice • You check with the tradesperson, they reply • Nobody checks the bank details • Payment is diverted to the conman • It happens because the tradeperson’s email has been hacked. 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 38
Invoice Fraud (2) How to prevent it: • Make a phone call to the builder to verify account details • Transfer a nominal amount and check they have received it before transferring the remainder • Ensure you change your passwords regularly to keep your email more secure 26/04/2017 Prestwood Village Association 39
