Challenges ■ Many Career Counselors, Teachers and Parents think: Ø Manufacturing is Dirty, Dark and Dangerous (3 D) Ø Apprenticeships are for students who are not smart enough to go to College Ø An Apprenticeships is a dead-end ■ Finding the right candidates for the Apprenticeship Program takes a lot of effort. • 5 www.apprenticeship2000.com

Selection time-line October - December ■ Career Counselor Luncheon ■ Recruiting at local High Schools (Junior Classes) ■ Open house(s) in December February - March ■ Orientation (performance and CPCC placement tests) June - July ■ Internship/Pre-Apprenticeship (performance and CPCC grades) August ■ Apprenticeship begins (receive monthly evaluations) Oct Nov Jan Feb Mar Apr May June July Aug Sep Dec • 6 www.apprenticeship2000.com

Selection requirements ■ For High school min GPA 2.8 ■ For home school CPCC placement test ■ Algebra 1 and at least another math class, such as: Algebra 2, Statistics, Calculus, Geometry ■ Good attendance (No more than 5 absences per year) ■ Recommended courses Ø Physics Ø Drafting Ø Computer application Courses Ø Any Related Hands-On Courses (Automotive, Electronics, HVAC) 7 www.apprenticeship2000.com
