  1. NOA Bridging Project Maths This work is going to your next school.

  2. Gotta catch ‘ em all!!

  3. There’s been an outbreak of Pokemon in Norfolk. You have persuaded your parents to take you around Norfolk in their car so you can catch some of them! Your parent says they will only use the petrol they have left in the tank which is enough for 250 miles! Your task is to catch as many of the pokemon as you possibly can!

  4. Start and end in Norwich

  5. Each place has a different number of pokemon to catch! The list below shows how many pokemon are in each place. You have to choose a route that will gain the most Pokemon, without travelling any more than 250 miles. Kings Lynn 6 Attleborough 3 Lowestoft 6 Aylsham 2 North Walsham 4 Beccles 4 Norwich 10 Bungay 3 Sherringham 5 Cromer 5 Somerton 1 Diss 4 Southwold 3 Downham Market 3 Swaffham 5 Fakenham 6 Thetford 5 Great Yarmouth 7 Watton 2 Harleston 2 Wells 2 Holt 3 Wymondham 5 Hunstanton 4

  6. A few rules If you travel from Norwich to Swaffham, you gain 15 Pokemon. 10 for being in Norwich and 5 for getting to Swaffham! If you then travel back from Swaffham to Norwich, you DO NOT get the Pokemon again, once you collect them, they are gone!

  7. A few rules You only have 250 miles worth of petrol! You must start and end in Norwich!! If you do not get back to Norwich it’s a failed attempt!

  8. Place Visited Pokemon Total amount Miles Travelled Miles Recording your journey! Found of pokemon remaining 10 10 0 250 Norwich Bungay 3 13 229 21 Beccles 4 17 8 221 6 11 210 23 Lowestoft 27 183 0 23 Norwich 250 – 21 = 229 miles left 229 – 8 = 221 miles left 221 – 11 = 210 miles left 210 – 27 = 183 miles left My route

  9. You will need to draw your own table like this! Place Visited Pokemon Total amount Miles Travelled Miles Found of pokemon remaining 10 10 0 250 Norwich Bungay 3 13 229 21 Beccles 4 17 8 221 6 210 11 23 Lowestoft 27 183 0 23 Norwich

  10. My Route! Norwich -> Bungay -> Beccles -> Lowestoft -> Norwich I managed to catch 23 pokemon! I still had 183 miles remaining! YOU CAN TRY AS MANY DIFFERENT ROUTES AS YOU WANT! It’s possible to catch over 80 pokemon!

  11. Gotta Catch ‘ Em All : My Solution Journey Pokemon Collected Places visited in the order The number of you visit Pokemon you them and collect will go distance here, alongside travelled here where you got them. Mark your route on the map

  12. Extension: What is the least amount of petrol you would need to be able to catch all of the pokemon?
