Neutrino Flux Nominal and Deformed z Nicholas Lira University of Texas Arlington DUNE Group July 20 2017
z The Dilemma There seems to be a consistent non – physical bump around 4.5 ▪ GeV for all deformations applied to the Inner Conductor for the neutrino flux. This same deviation does not exist for the pions. The goal of this talk is to understand why this may be occurring for the neutrino flux. 1

z Conclusion The neutrino flux bump occurring in the 4 – 5 GeV range does not ▪ immediately appear to be a fault in Root's processing, from my perspective. As you can see, some reasonable observations can me made. This leads me to believe there is an error in the source code or in my eventRates.C file. Nevertheless, that would still be odd because we are seeing some acceptable results when comparing two macros running the same simulation. If Root is making a mistake in binning, I would need to understand exactly what mechanism is creating these contradictory results. On one hand, it is showing something very reasonable. On the other, it has left us baffled.
