Lessons learned: Heavy lifting for the operator Licensing process is lengthy and not predictable Insurance available, but at higher premiums due to lack of data references Deployment requires close collaboration with cities on infrastructure for traffic signals, GPS, cell towers, charging stations, storage and security Quality of GNSS, DSRC and cellular vary widely across locations and providers Work closely with local police and fire departments for training of AV technology Elaborate startup process, routing/mapping, GNSS, and DRSC requires great attention to detail to ensure sustainability of the project Requires high level of ongoing technical support, maintenance, remote and on-site supervision 7
