Today we are going to think about how the story starts, where is it set? What was Alice doing before she fell down the rabbit hole? Why did Lucy get into the wardrobe? Why did the girl end up sitting on her bed by herself?

Make notes in the first box of your planning sheet then draft your opening paragraph. Remember you have already written the end of this paragraph so you need to stop when your character sees the portal and add on your sentences from last week.

If you have time you could start your second paragraph - remember you will need to describe the new world for your reader... Try to use prepositions in your description as well as descriptive devices.. !

In each paragraph at least one sentence should begin with an adverb or adverbial phrase. Paragraph 2 should use descriptive devices - similes, metaphors, alliteration and include prepositions In paragraph 3 try to include onomatopoeia Paragraph 4 must include another POWER OF 3 sentence.
