At MMT , we believe that decent, safe, affordable housing is the foundation for personal stability, thriving families and strong communities.
Our Affordable Housing Initiative furthers this vision by: exploring innovation supporting systems change leveraging resources to meet the housing needs of Oregonians.
Key Numbers $11 million Over 5 years 3 broad goal areas 7 funding strategies
1. Strengthening the Foundation Build on previous investments to strengthen the long- term health and sustainability of Oregon’s existing affordable housing. Preservation: Preservation of federally rent subsidized units at risk of being lost. Rural housing: Preservation of rural owner- occupied manufactured homes.
2. Fostering Innovation Catalyze innovative strategies to increase the availability of affordable housing and support residents’ stability and success. Cost efficiencies: Develop models for creating and preserving affordable units as cost effectively as possible over the units’ life span. Private market units: Expand low income renters’ access to safe, decent, affordable housing through existing private market units. Systems alignment: Support the stability and success of affordable housing residents by fostering strategic coordination between housing and other service systems.
3. Securing the Future Develop resources and policies that will expand the availability of affordable housing into the future. Advocacy: Systems change and advocacy to increase the availability of affordable housing. Investment: Explore innovative and opportunistic uses of Program Related Investments (PRIs) to spur the development and preservation of affordable housing in under-served areas.

Equity Considerations Outcomes: Does the project or program benefit under- resourced communities including people of color and under-served rural residents? Partnerships and collaborations: Do culturally specific and rural partners have genuine opportunities to inform, partner, and/or lead on the project? Grantees: What is the demographic composition of the grantee’s own staff and board? Does the grantee have an organizational equity policy/statement? Project design: How were impacted communities involved in the project design or issue identification?
