IMPACT • State parks face a decrease of nearly $40 million in General Funds. • Increase of nearly $272 million, primarily Prop 68 funding. • Lack of clarity in project allocations.
UNKNOWNS • Resources dedicated to design of Candlestick. • Prop 68 funds of nearly $5 million for nonprofit operators. • New visitor center for Col. Allensworth new visitor center. • Restoration projects for native plants. • What resources will be dedicate due. • Likely loss of 19 interpreters for K-12 education. • Low Income pass through public health and social services.
FUTURE CONCERNS • $30 million in on-going General Fund cuts beginning in 2021 should federal funds not come in. • Labor negotiations for future cuts that may result in furlough of state park personnel.
