Savona is a small town in the northern Italian region of Liguria, in the “Riviera di Ponente”, on the Mediterranean Sea. Savona is situated between the Mediterranean Alps and the Ligurian sea and has a population of about sixty thousand people. Its climate is mild and sunny for most of the year. Savona used to be one of the chief seats of the Italian iron industry, having foundries, shipbuilding, railway workshops and a brass foundry. Today it’s a seaside resort, with beautiful beaches which attract several tourists, and the port of departure for cruises around the Mediterranean Sea. In town, there are many high schools and also a university campus.
Hi there! My name is Sara Basile and I'm sixteen. My birthday is on 10th November. I’ve lived in Savona, a nice town by the sea, since I was born. My family is composed by me, my mum, my dad and my brother Samuele, who is twelve. I practised artistic gymnastics for five years. I really loved it, but after a lot of years I decided to stop it. I haven’t practised any sports so far , but this year I’ve decided to go swimming twice a week with my friend. In my spare time, I like reading or going out with my friends. My favourite literary genre is romance and my favourite writer is Margaret Mazzantini. I’ve read four of her books! With me friend I often go to the town centre, where we go shopping or have something to drink. Sometimes I watch romantic films or comedies on tv in the evening to relax, but I don't like going to the cinema. I’ve attended Liceo Scientifico for three years and my favourite subject is Maths, even if sometimes it's so difficult! This is my simple life. Love to you all!!
My name's Silvia. I'm seventeen and I'm from Milan, but I currently live in Savona, a seaside town. I've got a sister called Ilaria, and she's older than me: she's twenty- two. She lives in Genoa and she's studying Italian literature at University. I've got brown hair and I'm quite short. I'm friendly and positive and I always like meeting new friends, but sometimes I'm a little bit moody. I like travelling and seeing a lot of new places and I really love art in general. I spend my free time mostly in the gym where I dance, in fact I absolutely love it and I started dancing nine years ago. When I'm at home I like reading, watching movies and listening to the music with my I-pod. Of course I have to study and do my homework, too. Hi! I'm Arlena and I'm seventeen years old. I live in Cogoleto, a seaside town near Genoa (Italy), with my family, which is composed by five people, because I have two younger sisters: Ludovica, fourteen, and Letizia, seven years old. I also have a dog. I'm attending the scientific high school in Savona and my favourite subject is Philosophy. I love the cinema, reading and the theatre; in fact in my spare time I play in my school's theatrical company. I also go out with my friends, listen to the music and spend some time on the net. I'm quite good at drawing. I love travelling, in fact I would like to visit as many countries as I can, because so far I’ve had the opportunity to see very little of the world. I play tennis, but my favourite sport is artistic roller skating, that I’ve practised for many years! I would like to become a journalist, or to study International law.
Hi I’m Edoardo and I’m 16. I live in Savona. I’m in the third year of secondary school at liceo scientifico “O. Grassi” in Savona. In the past I used to play tennis twice a week and to go skiing every weekend but recently I’ve given up because I felt I didn’t have enough free time for myself any more. Anyway sometimes I play tennis with my friends and, in winter, I go skiing. In my free time I also like watching TV and going out with my friends, but I don’t like going to the cinema! In the future, maybe, I will be a lawyer as my uncle.
Hi, my name is Lisaura. I’m 17 years old and I was born on 10 th January. I live in Albissola Marina, a small town near Savona where I attend “Liceo Scientifico O. Grassi”. I live in a flat with my mum and I am an only child. I haven’t any pets but I love animals, especially dogs. I like playing the piano and my hobby is sailing, in fact every summer I spend one month learning to sail. This year I attended a course for sailing on a catamaran; it is very amusing when you go faster and faster! Since this year I’ve started Latin American dancing but unfortunately I need a partner. At first it is a bit difficult but then the music is so funny! When I have free time I go out with my friends. We love going to the cinema and I would like to watch films all day. My favourite cartoon films are “Corpse Bride” and “Nightmare before Christmas”. I think that Tim Burton is a genius. My favourite genre is action-thriller like “Inception”. Hello! I'm Beatrice and I'm 17 years old. I live in Italy, in a little town called Quiliano, near Savona. I live with my mother Loretta, my father Vincenzo and my older sister Jenny (even if she's living in Pavia now because she studies there and she returns home only at the weekend). I've got three beautiful dogs called Neve, Fulmine and the youngest Socrate. My favourite hobby is acting. I have done it for 4 years, and I like it so much! I love hanging out with my friends and watching telefilms too. My favourite English TV series is Skins, which is set in Bristol, but I like O.C and Mitsfits too. Then, my favourite movies are Blow and the drama The Notebook (I cry every time I watch them!) Another thing that I love is travelling around the world. My biggest dream is to go to Tennessee in America. It has beautiful landscapes and I hope I'll go there some day! Anyway, I do not practise any sports, but I go to the gym sometimes. I’m don’t know what I’ll be in the future. I would like to study physiotherapy, but I’m not sure yet.
Hello! My name is Chiara and I am 17 years old. I’m not very tall and I have brown eyes and long curly hair. I live in Savona, a town in the north-west of Italy, in a small house with my parents and my two sisters. One is older than me and the other one is younger… I am in the middle! I have been studying at high school for four years; it is hard, but I like it. I don’t have a favourite subject, even if I really like English and Art. In my free time I usually go out and meet my friends, but sometimes I also love staying at home alone. In this way I can have a little time for myself and above all I can relax and watch films. I am really interested in the cinema! One of my favourite hobbies is cooking, especially main courses and cakes. When I can I always go to the gym, usually about three times a week. This year I’ve also started a Latin American dance course. It is a new thing for me, but I find it fantastic!
Hi! I’m Teresa, I’m seventeen years old and I’m from Savona, a town on the North -West coast of Italy. I live in a flat quite far from the town center but near the sea, in an area that I love. In my family there are four of us: me, my father Mauro, my mother Caterina and my younger brother Tommaso. He’s fifteen years old , we resemble physically each other a lot but we’re totally different. During my free time I like doing different things. I’ve been practicing artistic gymnastics since I was six years old and now I still go to the gym four times a week. I’m an instructor too and I have a big group of children, so I spend a lot of time at my gym. I’m very interested in sports and I do follow football, athletics and many other disciplines. I like going out with my friends and I do it especially during the week-end, we hang around the town center, we sometimes go shopping or we simply sit in a cafè and have something to eat. In summer, a period of the year I do like, I usually go to the beach and spend a lot of time with my friends there. In fact I love the sea at any time of the year and I don’t know how it would be living without seeing it every morning. I’ve got other interests, fo r example I like reading especially novels and I often read books in English too because I’m very keen on this language. I like eating and listening to different kinds of music but I usually appreciate a lot rap and pop songs. When I come back home in the evening I usually surf the Net or I simply sit on the sofa watching a movie, a TV series or a football match.
