WHAT IS LESS • Liberal Education Student Symposium held in the Black Forest, Freiberg • April 13th- 17th 2018 • Outreach committee of Freiberg • Students from all over Europe: • The Netherlands • Germany • Belarus • France • Turkey • UK

WHAT WE DID • ‘ Does education free us do we need to free education?’ • Our session was titled- ‘Monetary or Moral.’ What is the purpose of education in the UK? • Ken Robinson TED talk on education • Introduced different philosophical theories on education • Brief outline of the variety of education systems and then asked students to discuss their own education systems in their respective countries. • Explained how the fee system in the UK is making higher education more business centric. • Brief discussion on censorship. • Brief case study of the Finnish education system.
