Role of Prefect ◼ Supporting & assisting Management & Staff. ◼ Assisting students at locker areas/ corridors. ◼ Involvement in Student Council with Prefects allocated to each Year Group. ◼ Representing the College at public events. ◼ Liaise and communicate with School Management.
Characteristics of a Suitable Prefect ◼ Reliable ◼ Trustworthy ◼ Proud to be a student of Castleknock Community College ◼ Willing to act as a layer between the staff and student body ◼ Good communication skills ◼ A team player ◼ A suitable role model for junior students and peers ◼ Capable of maintaining a balance between academic work and the duties of being a Prefect.
Selection Process Nomination ◼ You must be currently in Leaving Certificate 1. ◼ Consider the contents of this presentation and if you can commit to the demands of this role . ◼ Discuss this with your parent(s)/guardian(s). ◼ Complete Application Form. ◼ Year Head and tutors will be consulted: Uniform, attendance, punctuality must be exemplary ◼ Evidence of involvement in school life ◼ Cooperation with teachers ◼ Positive in your interactions with other students both in and outside of school ◼ ◼ Applications must be completed and submitted online by Wednesday, 27 th May 2020 by 1p.m. ◼ Leadership Training will be organised – date to be confirmed..
