� PIONEERING EFFORT Pioneering venture by Amalgm Group from Kerala o Amalgm Group involved mainly in seafood exports o In 1995 they developed the concept much before the concept o of cold chain came into being In 1996 Snowman Logistics Ltd promoted by Amalgm group o and based in Kerala started its first cold store in Chennai They soon developed the network of cold stores across India o connected to each other through a fleet of refrigerated trucks moving food products (under temp control) to and fro from each place to the other. The group also had their own ready-to-eat products (frozen) o which were distributed in the maj or metros
� Snowman Logistics at present 23 temp controlled warehouses in 14 locations o Locations in Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, o Vishakapatanam, Pune, Jalandhar, Nagpur, S urat, Ahmedabad, Ezhupunna (Kerala), Chandigarh. 370 refrigerated vehicles connecting all these locations. o Warehousing capacity of 58,543 pallets o M/ s Amalgm has sold the company after more than a decade of o operations Present promoters of the company are Gateway Distriparks o Limited, Mitsubishi Corporation, International Finance Corporation and Norwest Venture Partners.
