Treasurer’s Report $22,313 spent on Parks and Safety in 2019 ⚫ Includes $6,729 spent on replanting 2 of the traffic islands • Paid memberships of 240 households Continued strong financial position… • $13,131 neighborhood net income • Tour of Homes nets $19,446 • Grove Park Greening Project raised $11,947 • $110,903 total year-end cash balances

Griffing Rose Garden Restoration • Part of our ongoing MOU with the City of Asheville to maintain our 3 Historic Parks • Separate MOU still be finalized for City of Asheville per the Siteworks plan and proposed 3 year work schedule: Removal of 17 diseased hemlock and tree replacements, center path, new planting beds, benches, trash cans, etc. • Engagement of neighbors to the north of Griffing who are outside our boundaries, but are frequent users of the park. • Planned use of the funds in hand for GPSMNA to make a 5 figure contribution to the first phase of this important project • How much mulch this year?

Curr Cu rrent nt Rose se Gard rden n Work rk Pla lan • New design is lower maintenance, more inviting, has year-round interest and restores the original central walkway. • Initial mutual contribution levels created between the City of Asheville and GPSMNA. Contribution split is greatly in GPSMNA’s favor at this point. • Phase I includes removal/replacement of trees; removal of overgrown shrubs, etc. • Phase 2 includes aggregate walkway, foundation beds, boulders, trash cans, some benches • The completion of Phase 2 (more plantings)and all of Phase 3 (arbors, etc.) will proceed at the pace of additional contributions /GPSMNA funds • Rose Garden work to hopefully start soon! 12
