Indonesia Maritime Security Coordinating Board (Bakorkamla/IMSCB) was established in 1972 Presidential Decree No. 81 Year 2005 “IMSCB is mandated to coordinate integrated policy preparations and implementations of maritime security operations”
To enhance effectiveness and efficiency of maritime security operation and management of the sea in Indonesia’s waters and jurisdiction.
Sole authority of commanding and controlling all maritime security operation. All Operation Command will be based on: Information from Early Warning System; a. Operation is “One for All” operation; b. Coordination with related agencies for further legal c. process.
Authorities: hot pursuit; a. To stop, board, inspect, capture, and to submit b. vessels to related institutions for further legal process; To integrate security and safety information system in c. Indonesia’s waters and jurisdiction. Role a. Formulate national policies b. Surveillance, prevention, and law enforcement; c. Synergize and monitor the implementation of the sea security patrols by the related institutions; d. Provide assistance in search and rescue; e. Etc.
