  4. RICE STRAW PREPARATION Materials: • Big Water Drum • Burner / Stove • 2 Sacks of Rice Straw • Cotton Wool / Ball • 1 Bottle of Grain Spawn • Rubber Bands • 1/2 Kilo Lime / Calcium • 200 Gallon Water Carbonate • PVC Rings • Steel Drum

  5. Rice Straw Preparation 1. Fill in the water drum with water and mix 1/2 kilo of Lime / Calcium Carbonate. Then, soak in the sacks of Rice Straw and leave it overnight

  6. Rice Straw Preparation 2. The following day, drain off water from the sacks.

  7. Rice Straw Preparation 3. In a steel Drum, boil water until the temperature reaches 60C to 70C. Then put the sacks of Rice Straw and boil it for 2 hours. Just Maintain the temperature from 60C - 70C.

  8. Rice Straw Preparation 4. After 2 hours of pasteurization, take out the sacks from the boiling water and spread the rice straws in a clean drying area.

  9. Rice Straw Preparation 5. Get a handful of Rice Straw and roll it like you are making a bird’s nest. Then, put it inside the PP Bag and sprinkle it with grain spawn.

  10. Rice Straw Preparation 6. Do this layering method 3-4 times until it fills the PP Bag. 


  11. Rice Straw Preparation 7. Secure it with PVC Rings or Set Caps and plug it with Cotton Wool. 


  12. Rice Straw Preparation 8. Incubate the fruiting bag for 3 weeks until the whole rice straw is covered by mycelium in a clean area. 


  13. Rice Straw Preparation 9. After 3 weeks of incubation, transfer the substrate inside the growing room and cut holes around the body and wait for the mushrooms to grow.
