Quality pool distribution The 2016 quality pool was almost $87.5 million (federal match of state dollars generated by 0.5 percent of the Hospital Provider Assessment Program) Phase 1: Floor payment • 13 Hospitals earned a $500,000 floor payment by achieving at least 75% of the measures for which they qualify Phase 2: Quality pool • Remaining funds were allocated to hospitals based on their performance on individual measures. • Legacy Mt.   12. What did hospitals do well? • Adverse Drug Events due to Opioids: All hospitals achieved the benchmark. • Excessive Anticoagulation with Warfarin: 27 hospitals achieved the benchmark. • Hypoglycemia in Patients receiving Insulin: 23 hospitals achieved the benchmark. 12

What areas need more work? • Catheter-associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs): 17 achieved the benchmark. • Patient Experience Measures reported through the HCAHPS survey – Staff always explained medicines: 10 hospitals achieved the benchmark – Staff gave patient discharge information: 15 hospitals achieved the benchmark 13
