HRT BOARD PRESIDENT Bill Fishburn is the current President of the Hispanic Roundtable. Bill has been an active volunteer in our community since 1996, and he began working with us in 2008 as a representative of the Intel Corporation, where he worked until 2016 in various roles. Bill currently works at the Department of Health in Information T echnology. He is a father to three, a grandfather to one, and a husband of almost 30 years.
HRT BOARD VICE PRESIDENT Kathy Baros Friedt has been involved with the Hispanic Roundtable for 15 years! She’s been part of leadership planning for the annual Latinx Y outh Summit through all those years and been VP for the last several. Reinforcing the importance of supporting Latinx students and families so they receive services, feel safe, and flourish in our community is of paramount importance! Kathy was an executive in state government for 30 years. Subsequent to retirement she expanded her presence in many community roles, including Strengthening Sanctuary.
HRT BOARD TREASURER Lola Flores was born and raised in Guadalajara, M exico. She has a Bachelors degree in Biology and a M aster in Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College. She works at the Department of Ecology managing stormwater grants to help restore Puget Sound. As a member of Oly Embrace, Lola also participates in local activism and community engagement. She enjoys hiking the PNW magnificent trails and jogging. Lola has lived in the area for over seven years with her husband and their two girls.
HRT BOARD SECRETARY Sara Peté has been involved with the HRT and the Latinx Y outh Summit planning committee for all fifteen years she has been at the Olympia Timberland Library. Her current position is Senior Librarian - Adult Services. Sara and her staff will happily visit you and your organization to let you know all about the many hidden (and free!) treasures of the Timberland Regional Library – including downloadable ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines, free online classes, streaming video, and much, much more. Sara will begin a new position at the Washington State Library in mid-July.
HRT BOARD M EM BER Rafael Estevez has over 20 years of active military service coaching, mentoring and counseling soldiers and their families. He earned his graduate studies in Psychology with a concentration in M arriage and Family Therapy (M FT) from Brandman University. He has a great passion for providing client-centered, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral services with a personal commitment to cultural sensitivity. Estevez also provides equine assisted psychotherapy to veterans, soldiers and their family members of all ages at Four Star Farm, with a short-term goal of getting EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) model certification.
HRT BOARD M EM BER Theresa Kimball has been an HRT Board member since 2007. She is co-founder of RALL Y Collective Impact group serving students and parents in five counties, retired from 36 years of higher education and advocacy for low-income and students of color.
HRT BOARD M EM BER Sherry Sullivan has been with the board of HRT for 5 or 6 years. As board chair of CIELO, she represents HRT's close ties with CIELO and its long-time educational, mental health, and advocacy services to the Latinx immigrant community in the South Sound area. Now retired from teaching, Sherry taught at South Puget Sound Community College for over 20 years.
HRT BOARD M EM BER Dianna T orres Angulo is a first-generation mujer of M exican decent who has a passion for Organizational Health and elevating the representation of Latinx students in Bachelors, M aster, and Doctorate degree programs. She was the first Latina to achieve a M anager position with Comcast's Washington State Sales Call Center and most recently achieved the highest Employee Engagement scores amongst her West Division Sales and M arketing M anager peers. She founded DL TA INC to help the Latinx community gain knowledge an insights on how to help elevate their representation in Fortune500 companies and higher education.
