About Ms. Facinelli Grew up in Phoenix- Attended Altadena Middle School and Desert Vista High School as a student Graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education 6 th year teaching Math at Aprende Middle School I love sports, hiking, cooking, and reading. I also love to travel! This year, I went to Traverse City, San Diego, and Seattle.
Principles of Algebra Focus Connecting rates & ratios to whole number multiplication and division Dividing fractions & use of rational numbers Generate, interpret & use expressions, inequalities & equations Represent & analyze quantitative relationships between independent & dependent variables. Carnegie Math Resource Utilized as whole class, small group, and individual learning with work texts and web-based software. Students will take the chapter we are learning out of their student notebooks and keep it in their binder until the end of the chapter. The MATHia software is ideal for extended learning and intervention.
MATHia Expectations Students need to spend 2 hours on MATHia every week. Math tutoring will be available one day after school. Up to 50 points per unit completed. Units must be completed by the due date. When students finish a module, they get their name on the leader board & roll for a PRIZE!!!!!!!!

Sixth Grade Math Celebrations! At the end of every quarter, we celebrate academic & behavioral success. Passing grade (C or better) Celebrations include: treats, games, field trips to the park, movies, electronics, and more!
Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) • PBIS provides staff & students with a unified set of rules that are clearly defined & enforced. • Students may earn peel off tickets when any staff member observes them showing respect, responsibility, or pride. Every ticket is a winner! • • Prizes include: gift cards, rootbeer float party, bingo party, PBIS store, electronic passes, hat passes, etc. • PBIS is a Kyrene School District adopted program.
KUDOS 6 th Grade Currency Used to pay for supplies & earn valuable prizes at the end of the quarter celebrations.
6 th Grade GHOST BUSTER DANCE Friday, August 12 th (3:30-5:00) Aprende MPR Come join us to dance, socialize & meet your new classmates! Tickets will be sold during lunch on Thursday and Friday & at the door for $3.00. Must get a permission slip signed by a parent/ guardian & bring it to the dance. Refreshments will be available at an additional cost.

Sports Physicals Sports physicals will be available here in our gym on: Tuesday, August 2 nd 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM The cost for the physical is $25. CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY — NO CHECKS! This year you must register for an appointment at physico2go.com Parents must stay with their child during the physical just like any other doctor’s appointment. No physical, no school sports
This Saturday, July 30, I will be locking myself in a dog kennel at the Arizona Humane Society South Mountain Campus wearing my doggy footie pajamas and floppy dog ears in an effort to save the lives of thousands of homeless animals and I need your help! Visit me (your crazy math teacher) in the kennel and I will give you a math homework pass! 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
