  1. Helping to heal the Earth and Nature: methods from 90 years of We welcome you to biodynamic practice presentations followed by questions and discussion in groups

  2. From the start biodynamics was based on observation , trials and developing good practice arising from an understanding of the relationship between minerals, soil, plants and animals and the beneficial role the farmer and gardener can play in this ecosystem. The Agriculture lectures of 1924 were only a start and indications for developing an approach to healthy (and non-polluting) farming.

  3. In 1929 a UK Biodynamic Farming Foundation was established • From that founding onwards regular farm visits and study days were established and many conferences on biodynamics were convened. • Scientists such as Gunter Wachsmuth, Ehrenfried Pfeiffer and Lily Kolisko shared their findings from practical and lab-based experiments. Followed by Maria Thun, the FiBL institute and many more. For more information see https://www.biodynamics.com/research-portal. • A number of biodynamic farms were established in the UK before WWII. After the war the number grew significantly and the Care Villages and homes such as Camphills established farms and gardens. A Brockman, D Clements, G Corrie, followed by J Anderson led the Biodynamic Association, quality assurance and set up standards and systems for certification in connection with Demeter Int’nl. • There are now 110 Demeter certified farms and market gardens, (ie Biodynamic farms registered to the international biodynamic standards that are the Demeter mark) and nearly 50 Demeter processors, the majority of them are on-farm processing of milk, meat, vegetables and fruit. There are also other farms and gardens using biodynamics but not registered or certified to these standards.

  4. Now in 2019 biodynamic / demeter farming and gardening is offering a super-organic approach to regenerative farming for healthy alive soils, tasty and nutritious vegetables and fruit, and for animals to have happy lives living in FFI see www.biodynamic.org.uk or contact office@biodynamic.org.uk, tel 01453 759501, or certification@biodynamic.org.uk for organic and demeter certification natural family groups so providing highest quality produce for when meat is part of the meal .

  5. How can biodynamic make my farm / garden more resilient ? Why would I use it ? André Tranquilini estatemanager@walthamplace.com
