Nordic infrastructure for Research & Education • The GNA is about defining a framework for a global network interconnect for R&E • It is set of architectural principles that organisations agree to follow by participating and putting skin in the game • ANA-100G Project serves as a path finder for GNA
NORDUnet GNA – Ops & Security Nordic infrastructure for Research & Education • Federated Operations and Security Model • Develop a data/health template to be applied to all physical devices and services • Be minimally invasive. Strive for uniformity, but not at expense of participation
NORDUnet GNA – Network Services Nordic infrastructure for Research & Education • Overlay networks e.g. LHCONE • Point-to-Point Circuits • Dynamic circuits • Multi-point VLANs
NORDUnet Nordic infrastructure for Research & Education GNA – Technology and Topology • Building blocks: Big Pipes and Open Exchange Points • The exchange points must be open and shouldn't impose any AUP • Must support the functionality needed to support the GNA network services • VLAN Translation, etc • Must connect to at least one other GXP with link which doesn't impose any AUP.
