Homeward DC - Strategy 1 • Develop a more effective crisis response system, including creating a day-time service center for single adults • “Front Porch Services” provided to residents before they reach the front door of the homeless shelter system ⚫ 3
RFA Overview • Name: Daytime Services for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness • Purpose: Support the operation of year-round daytime services for 100 to 426 single adults experiencing homelessness • Funding: Up to $2m for up to two providers • Award period: Sep. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2019 – Up to four additional option years ⚫ 4
Target Population • Adults, age 18 or older, who are experiencing homelessness including – Individuals living in emergency shelter, transitional housing, or who are unsheltered • Those who would voluntarily access more robust daytime services if those services were available, well marketed, and conveniently located ⚫ 5
