Conclusion • Fibrosis progression is heightened by ongoing virological activity and metabolic factors • Fibrosis (and even cirrhosis) regression is possible by minimizing liver injury and allowing time for recovery – Antiviral therapy – HBsAg seroclearance • Evidence of benefits of fibrosis regression in terms of clinical outcomes – Lower HCC risk
