Lessons Learned Sustainable vs. Self-Sustaining
Sustainable A 5.8kW system provides ~1% of the energy used by one of Rochester’s high schools. MNSEP’s goal: promote awareness by making alternative energy seem tangible for students.

Self-Sustaining Alternative energy is sustainable. But a message about that alternative energy is not self-sustaining. The product of MNSEP’s project was not the panels it built but rather the people it engaged.
