  7. Bracknell Forest’s Family Services Directory & SEND Local Offer

Family Information Service & Local Offer • FIS are responsible for ensuring that information about registered childcare and SEND provisions within BFC are publicly available and up to date. • We are also responsible for managing The Family Services Directory (FSD) & SEND Local Offer (LO) website which is the online information hub for families and professionals.

Family Information Service & Local Offer • FSD - Not just childcare and holiday clubs - family support, parenting, childcare funding, school/ nursery admissions, leisure, EAL families / new to area who might need extra support to access services. • The LO contains information about local and national SEND services and supports as well as step by step guides to the processes and pathways through which they are accessed. We also offer a brokerage service to help families find the right services, support and childcare to meet their child’s need.

  10. Increasing awareness • A recent survey indicated that many families are still unaware of this online resource and our service. • Promotion is key – we rely on promotion & signposting from Schools, Social Care teams, EY professionals, GPs and other professionals who work with families. • Please remember we are here to help. Feel free to signpost parents to us or contact us yourselves.

Provider Updates • We will be sending out an update reminder next week • Please also review your Local Offer • For those who have yet to complete their Local Offer – please feel free to ask us for help. Most of the content will already be somewhere in your existing policies – it’s not as dauting as it looks. • The FSD Jobs Page – this is now linked to the BFC jobs page, so will receive far more views.

  18. 2020-21 Funding Rates • Indicative rates for 2020-21 were sent via portal on 19/12/19 and have now been confirmed and start from 01/04/2020. The base rate has increased: 2019 20 hourly rate - 2020 21 hourly rate - 2 year olds £5.46 £5.54 3 & 4 year olds £4.31 £4.39

  19. 2020-21 Funding Rates • The £0.14 per hour quality supplement has been awarded to all providers who hold relevant level 5 or 6 EY qualifications • The deprivation supplement has been calculated using postcodes of funded children during 2019. 3 level £0.13, £0.26 or £0.39 per hour • Have you reviewed your business model? • Do you need to adjust your chargeable hours and/or additional charges?
