3 In 2017, NY alloc ate d funds for L yme r e se ar c h and pr e ve ntion • NYSIPM received funds through NYS DOH and NYSED • In early 2017 we had proposed to: • Conduct surveillance in SE NY where none was happening, send ticks for disease testing • Educate New Yorkers with a social media campaign that included lots of visuals. • Tick ID cards, posters, infographics • Tick removal kits • Tick education kits to be created and distributed to all NY CCE offices and BOCES organizations. • Educate, educate, educate through presentations.
