Because the higher you appear in the results, the higher the chance of someone clicking on your website and potentially becoming a customer! 1

  3. 7/1/18 SOME FACTS ABOUT SEO According to a study completed in 2011, Google led the U.S. core search market in April with 65.4 percent of the searches conducted, followed by Yahoo! with 17.2 percent, and Microsoft with 13.4 percent. A #1 position in Google's search results receives 18.2% of all click-through traffic. The second position receives 10.1%, the third 7.2%, the fourth 4.8%, and all others under 2%. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN FROM THIS BUNDLE As you can see, there are a LOT of elements at work when it comes to SEO, way more than we can cover in one little bundle. So you don’t get overwhelmed we’re going to focus on the area that’s the easiest to DIY and involves minimal study: On On Page Op Optimisation That includes finding the right keywords and know how (and where) to incorporate them into your website copy as well as other areas like images, links and “meta data”. 3

  4. 7/1/18 SEO IS AN EVER-CHANGING BEAST In the “old days”, SEO was all about stuffing as many keywords into your site as possible and “tricking” Google into putting you on the first page. This is impossible now because Google got SMART. Today, it’s just as important to write quality content (written for humans) as it is to tick all of the technical boxes. So no cutting corners! SEO ISN’T JUST FOR BIG BRANDS While expensive SEO companies will try and say you need to spend $$$ on your SEO to see results, this is not true! Yes, paying for outside help may increase the effectiveness of your efforts and/or the speed you get results, but DIY SEO is a fantastic option for small businesses that have the time for it. Yes, ti time . SEO takes work. Sometimes slow, fiddly and boring work. And patience. Don’t expect overnight results. MAKE THE BEST WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT I’m going to give you my recommendations for an “ideal world” where your site is up to scratch and so is your copy, but don’t get disheartened if either one isn’t perfect. Do what you can now and keep a wish list of improvements you might need help with for the future so you can save for them.
