Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) A very harsh (hot and dry) climate, Temperatures 84ºF to 105ºF with a mean of 86ºF, Inadequate and unpredictable rainfall, resulting in drought, hunger and heavy livestock loss, often worsened by insecurity.
Poverty rates are amongst the highest in sub- Saharan Africa Over 80% of people living on an income of less than USD 1 per day.

The Church Built over 200 Primary and Secondary Schools that are now under government control. Currently have 470 Nursery Schools 11 Primary and 3 Secondary Schools 1748 Boys and 3869 Girls Enrolled in Pry and Secondary Schools

Fr. Bruno Okoli St. Augustine Cathedral Administrator Established exchange program to strengthen the bond of sisterhood between the two diocese. He has been in Turkana since October 2017 and he is doing great work.
