The Cohansey River and Kirkwood ‐ Cohansey Aquifer
Objectives Educate residents about green stormwater infrastructure practices, goals and strategies. Inform residents of overconsumption and lack of recharge of the aquifer through demonstration projects. Objectives Illustrate connection between urban and agricultural communities through hands on projects. and Goals Target nontraditional audiences through multimedia outreach and diverse education strategies. Goal Increase awareness of impairments and restoration strategies for the Cohansey River and the Kirkwood ‐ Cohansey aquifer in an underserved community.

Next Steps for 2017 Install 3 bio ‐ retention systems at Upper Deerfield Elementary Schools. Introduce water conservation education program in Bridgeton and Upper Deerfield high schools. Distribute rain barrels throughout Bridgeton (goal=50 barrels distributed to residents) Complete “Stormwater Walk” field trip at Bridgeton and Barrett’s Run preserve. Install cistern at Buckshutem Elementary school in Bridgeton
