SHORT SYNOPSIS On the edge of the Antarctic Circle, a steamship approaches a desolate island. On board is a young man, poised to take the post of weather observer, to live in soli- tude at the end of the earth. THE DIRECTOR David Slade David Slade (born September 26, 1969) is a Bri- tish fi lm director who began his career making music videos. His work includes videos for ar- tists such as Aphex Twin, Rob Dougan, System of a Down, Stone Temple Pilots, Tori Amos, and Muse. His fi rst feature fi lm “Hard Candy” was released in 2005 by Lions Gate Entertainment who pur- chased the independent movie at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2007, his second feature “30 Days of Night” proved to be a commercial success grossing more than $75M Worldwide.
