Solutions Center Initiative cleanenergysolutions.org Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) launched the Clean Energy Solutions Center in April 2011 Multilateral initiative has been co-led by U.S. • Department of Energy and the Australian Department of the Environment and Energy.   17. Ask an Expert: Process 1. Request: Government officials may submit requests via: – Solutions Center website – E-mail – In person 2. Initial Response : Requests are reviewed & initial response provided within 2 working days 3. Matchmaking : Solutions Center regional lead identifies appropriate expert to provide support; matching expertise to policy needs 4. Scoping : Call between Solutions Center lead, requestor and assigned expert is conducted to assess details & scope of policy/program needs Ask an Expert lead facilitates introductions and communications between – expert & requester

  18. Ask an Expert: Process 5. Ongoing Work: Expert works directly with requester and other stakeholders to assure needs are met and results are delivered 6. Oversight: Solutions Center project lead monitors progress throughout intervention process to assure quality service is delivered 7. Findings: Details of expert support outcomes and findings are provided in report and/or presentation format 8. Initial Feedback: Once completed, requestor completes a feedback survey on how the assistance will be utilized and provides quotes on value 9. Follow-up Survey: Solutions Center Ask an Expert lead and/or expert follows up with requestor in ~6 months to assess progress and outcomes 10.Next Steps : More than one request from a country, region, or locality is permitted. Sometimes requests lead to follow-up support on related topics.

  20. National Support: Belize The Clean Energy Solutions Center together with the OAS has supported Belize in intensifying energy efficiency efforts in government, businesses and households 1. Recommendations for adapting minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) for lighting, refrigeration, HV/AC and motor engines; 2. Development of a model of Integrated Services Companies (IUC) and a certification system for energy service providers; 3. Financial mechanisms and capacity building for sustainable financial energy; 4. Workshop of interested parties and end users on the proposed certification system and MEPS. IMPACT: During the Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) in 2016 in Guyana, the work carried out in Belize gained regional recognition as an integral part of the CARICOM regional strategy for energy efficiency.
