DEM’s Scope Goal: Reduce GHG emissions 80 x 50 (interim 35% by 2025 for City gov) • DCAS serves as a hub for City government energy management efforts • Over 4,000 City facilities and 10,000+ utility accounts • $700 million annual energy supply budget for electricity, natural gas, & steam • $40 million annual program budget and capital budget over $200 million 3
DEM Program Areas • Budget, supply and reporting • Energy efficiency retrofit projects • Energy audits and studies • Low-cost operational improvements o retro-commissioning o preventative maintenance o tools and training • Benchmarks City buildings & data management • Solar power on City facilities • Manages Demand Response program • Pilots new technologies • Funds 30 energy staff at 13 agencies • Provide contracting resources 4

Clean Energy Project Implementation Solar Installations • 60+ solar installations completed on City-owned buildings, totaling 11 MW • Power Purchase Agreement awarded for 17 MW of solar for 88 installations • Strategic funding through City construction partners (DDC, SCA, EDC, Agency Initiatives, etc.) • RFP forthcoming 50+ sites totaling over 12 MW • Design development currently ongoing. To be advanced via DCAS PQL. A solar PV installation at a Brooklyn Middle School. This installation, completed in 2015, has a capacity of 121 kW. 7
