What is the Choice Neighborhoods Grant?  $400,000 HUD Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant  Awarded to City of New Bern & Housing Authority  For planning the revitalization of greater Five Points area including: • Five Points commercial district • Greater Duffyfield community • Walt Bellamy community • Public housing at Trent Court & Craven Terrace

Key Elements of Choice Neighborhoods:  Two year planning process  End product is Transformation Plan  Comprehensive plan focused on three areas: • Neighborhood – jobs, safety, infrastructure • People – education, health, support services • Housing – public and private  Community-driven plan
