Chart Your Course • First Year Seminar Programs Across the Country • Increases persistence & retention • Helps to facilitate a successful transition • Positive Effect on students’ grades • Increases likelihood of graduation within 4 years by 5-15% • ALL students benefit from taking a First Year Seminar • Positive and meaningful interactions with faculty/staff and students • Offered at more than 90% of institutions (Pascarella & Terenzini, 2005; Pascarella & Terenzini, 1991) (Permzadian & Credé, 2016)

Support Network • 17 Student Maximum Capacity per session • Weekly check-ins to start class • Staff members volunteering their time • Peer Navigators for each section

Peer Navigators help you along the way
Peer Navigators • Peer Mentors selected after a thorough application process • Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors • Work in tandem with an Instructor to co-teach one section • Plan social outings with class • Facilitate monthly 1-on- 1’s
