  11. THE YEAR IN QUESTION • Ok so this is an AGM so we should be talking about 2016-7 • But that was 7 months ago!! • So we’ll talk about 2016-7 finances and up to date activities • And we’ll do the same next year (if I remember)

JOBS DONE SINCE LAST YEAR • Strategic plan Shop for the Future finished and launched in April • Second Demos report Shopping for Good published and launched in Parliament • Finances stabilised and looking good • Membership at record high in both dimensions • Volunteering campaign being shaped • Party conferences attended • Huge numbers of political meetings • Business rates saved in Scotland (OK with others)

  13. JOBS DONE SINCE LAST YEAR • APPG to be launched in November • Gift Aid training guidance launched • Gift Aid courses launched • FOI results published • Small charities group established and running very successfully

JOBS STILL TO DO • Volunteering campaign needs finalising • Secret Santa campaign about to be launched • Style your MP campaign in the spring • Get APPG motoring • Recruiting new administrator (replacement), new research administrator (subject to board approval) and maternity cover for Julia, Head of Events

CURRENT ISSUES • Social value – promoting positive image of sector to MPs, peers and other politicians • Business rates – great success in Scotland, still under review in NI • Gift Aid – campaign running on de minimis through GA working group • Waste charges – lobbying via contacts and will be one suggestion for APPG • Door to door collections – NEOs still on the agenda, ongoing discussions with TRA re register of approved collectors • FOI request • Recycling in London campaign • Plenty of good relationships built • BRC, ATCM, NCVO, CTG, CFG, BIRA etc etc
