Case Summary 19 Year old primip at term gestation. Patient claims that she has moderately gained weight during the pregnancy. Prenatal care is spotty but is positive for gestational diabetes that is not controlled. Patient will be pushing at the start of the scenario with crowning to occur shortly after start. Patient will develop shoulder dystocia that easily resolves.
Scenario-Specific Objectives • Performs internal and external maneuvers to relieve shoulder dystocia • Initiates appropriate actions to assist delivery • Hand-off infant to newborn team • Demonstrates a team-based approach in resuscitation of a compromised newborn
