  2. THE CALDECOTTE XPERIENCE IS A CENTRE FOR HIGH QUALITY OUTDOOR EDUCATION. The centre has spent 25 years delivering outdoor activities to young people across the area. All staff are experienced at working with all types of groups and are able to cater for many additional needs within any group. They offer a wide variety of activities from either land or water based and one or two indoors. They tailor each visit to achieve set school aims and objectives and all sessions are based on the ten outcomes of high quality outdoor learning.

  4. Arrival Drop off Due to car parking space we will be organising different waves for dropping off in the morning. There will be three waves for dropping off- 8.30 8.45 9.00 Once you have dropped off your child you will be able to settle them and then clear the car park ready for the next wave.

  5. Accommodation The children will be given the opportunity to choose friends that they would like to share accommodation with. They will be with at least one friend from their choice. The children will be sleeping in tipis in groups of 8-10 http://www.caldecottexperience.org.uk/accommodati on/tipis.html There are showers and toilets on site near where the children will be sleeping.

  6. Food  The centre provides the children with healthy, balanced meals cooked fresh on site daily and are proud to hold a FSA Food Hygiene Rating 5.  They are able to cater for all dietary, religious and allergy requirements and ensure that the meals offered are filling, varied and nutritious.  The children will be having a BBQ for their dinner.  They also provide an evening drink of hot chocolate with a biscuit for a bedtime treat.  The children will need a pack lunch for the first day. Packed lunches will be ready at the lunch break for the second day.There is a choice of fillings for baguettes.  The children will have a self serve breakfast of cereals, toast and fruit.

What to wear • Old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty - trousers, jumper • For caving the children will need a long sleeved top and a pair of tracksuit bottoms • A pair of old trainers that you don’t mind getting dirty • Girls please have hair tied up. Extra to pack for day time activities • Sun cream , a sun hat/baseball cap (fingers crossed for sun shine) • A water-proof coat • Gloves, hat and scarf ( if weather at the time is cold) For Water based activities: • Old clothes you don’t mind getting wet (including trainers - can be wet shoes) • Swimming costume/trunks/shorts • A towel • DON’T WEAR JEANS

  10. Extra • Warm pyjamas – long top and trousers and thick, warm socks. The centre advises a onesie for bedtime for warmth. • Wash bag- toothbrush and paste, hair brush, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, flannel. • One towel for showering and one for water activity. • Spare socks and underwear for after wet activity and next morning. • Bin bag for wet/ dirty clothing • Camera – disposable • No electrical items – torch • No money needed • Lunch for arrival day in a named plastic bag • Sleeping bag, pillow and roll mat (if you have one) • Teddy bear

  12. Medical  You have completed a detailed medical form for our and the centres records.  All medication must be clearly labelled, in correct packaging and dosage clearly listed.  Please put medication in a plastic bag/ box with name clearly marked.  Give this to Grace when you drop of your child.  Feel free to send calpol if your child is prone to headaches or pains at night time- remember to label with name and dosage.

  13. Collection Collection will work in the same way as drop off. We will run three waves for collection – 3.15 3.30 3.45
