Coaches Conference – Part 2 • We would like to review the FO procedure with your FO guys. • There are quite a few rules changes this year…do you have any questions? • Have you had any unusual game situations this season? • Will we have an anthem tonight – any additional ceremonies? • Field obstructions? • The Referee does the talking
Table Discussion • You are the third team – home team • Game time • Penalty time – C-NOTE • Color Number Offense Time *** Explanation • Horn – NFHS Only – Dead ball and officials have both hands in the air – Coaches will ask for a horn when it is • Player leaves the box early – Double Horn. – Color of their jersey – Number on their jersey – Time in the game – How much penalty time
Field Inspection • Check the goals – are there holes? • Look for safety issues on/around the field – Sprinklers – Mud – Goal posts • NFHS – Do they have cones?? • Do they have ball retrievers?
The Field - NFHS • Fields can be played with football dimensions • No change in dimensions – X not required
The Field - NCAA • Larger substitution area – 20 yards • Notice impact on coaches area • Number of balls required on end and sideline • Balls required at scorers table
The coin toss • Line up - home team faces the bench • The R introduces himself and the U, FJ • Captains introduce yourself/shake hands • Present the coin – heads/tails • Explain the flip and catch – Don’t turn it over – Drop it scenario • Heads or tails? – The umpire speaks! Confirmation.
