Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 5th August Any Other Business • Relative weight of NDP policies vs MV Development Plan Ashtead and Bookham RAs have been discussing with MVDC the way that NDP policies are used in planning decisions. – determination of an application must be made in accordance with the development plan, unless material considerations indicate otherwise – Ashtead NDPs are part of the development plan and the policies within them carry the same weight as policies within the Mole Valley Core Strategy or saved policies of the Mole Valley Local Plan. – It is for the decision-taker to determine the weight to be given to the policies in the development plan and material considerations. – Local planning authorities are expected to approach decision-taking in a positive way, looking for solutions rather than problems in delivering development.
Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 5th August Date of Next Meeting • Saturday 3 rd February 2018 – Review of planning decisions post-referendum
