ANNIS ROAD PRV STATION AND FIRE MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING OCTOBER 14, 2017
PROJECT SUMMARY Project Includes: 6,650 linear feet of new 8” and 10” ductile iron water main to replace existing 6” water main Installation of a new pressure reducing valve (PRV) in underground vault Temporary relocation of 98 private water services Replacement of 98 water meter boxes 2 Replace/relocate 18 fire hydrants
PROJECT BENEFITS Improves public safety Improves fire flow availability to residential neighborhoods Adds new hydrant locations to improve coverage Replaces aging infrastructure Upgraded pipe materials 3
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION Divided into Eastern and Western Sections Each section completed sequentially by phase (W1, W2, etc.) Temporary water bypass system will be installed to maintain water service during construction Service will be interrupted to connect to temporary bypass Staging at Firth Park parking lot and Brisbane Fire Station back lot 4
CONSTRUCTION CHALLENGES Narrow roads with limited access Steep terrain Many other existing utility lines (sewer, storm, gas) Hard bedrock close to surface 5
PROJECT IMPACTS Road Closures Limited to 500 feet per day Contractor must provide 72 hours advanced notice Traffic must be restored at the end of the work day Contractor must provide access for emergency vehicles at all times Trash pickup limitations (City will look to adjust prior to construction) Delivery service daytime interruption (USPS, FedEx, UPS, On-Track, etc.) Water service disruptions Service must be restored within 8 hours Contractor must provide 72 hours advanced notice Temporary Water Bypass Installed in gutter or along side of road Ramps will be installed at each driveway 6
