Why choose an Add-on solution moving to combined cycle power plant? Open cycle have been often built as a fast track solution responding to power demand , lower costs and flexible solution Open cycle are anyway unable to meet current and future efficiency and environmental compliance needs Add-on solution enable a fast switch to combined cycle operation , proven to deliver better performance , as an attractive option to meet high demand needs and environmental requirements COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL
Add-on – Main features Nearly 50% more power with the same fuel (conversion to gas) and efficiency rates of 60% and more Significantly reducing the plant environmental impact to achieve emissions reduction goals in the energy mix with renewables High degree of flexibility in operation with start up time reduced down to 30 min (hot condition) and close to 15 min for simple cycle Steam supplied by HRSG can also be used to feed other applications (e.g. district heating, industrial applications) Computer-controlled plant start-up and shut-down sequences, plant coordinated control systems, with fully automated plant management guarantee maximum performance . COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL
Add-on – Ansaldo Energia main reference projects, EGYPT 6 th October • 4 x 150 MW AE94.2 + 1 x 340 MW AE MT20 • Ansaldo Energia EPC contractor Al Shabab • 2 x [4 x 125 MW GE + 1 x 270 MW AE MT20] • Ansaldo Energia STG power block , air cooled condenser and electrical auxiliaries West Damietta • 4 x 125 MW GE + 1 x 270 MW AE MT20 • Ansaldo Energia STG power block, air cooled condenser and electrical auxiliaries COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL
AVON ADD-ON MAIN PARAMETERS AND FIGURES Main requirement: gas availability and GTs conversion to gas First option: straight add-on (all 4 GTs) or modular (2 phases, 2 GTs per phase) Second option: configuration, 4+1 (only for straight add-on) or twice 2+1 GT power increase: during gas conversion a new set of blades can be installed to increase GT output (indicative figure is 8 MW per unit at ISO condition) The magical rule: 2 to 1… it means that in a combined cycle the steam turbine power is around 50% of the GTs overall power… which means … Overall Power Output increases by roughly 50% compared to the current one Overall efficiency drastic improvement as the same number of molecules is consumed to generate a higher output Emissions level within WB values with no water injection Additional benefits • Water saving (today DI water is made up from potable water) • Fuel supply: non need of truck deliveries • Safety: road circulation, better environment • Workforce: consistent increase in local jobs (pipeline, additional equipment in the power plant) DISCLAIMER The information and data provided in this presentation are for reference only and are not binding, and do not constitute a promise of sale, warranty, performances, merchantability.
