What is College Credit Plus?
A State Funded Opportunity to Earn College Credit College-ready students who are U.S. Citizens and Ohio residents Grades 7 – 12 (although we recommend 9-12) FREE college credit
Who has to apply? ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY MAY WANT TO EARN FREE COLLEGE CREDIT IN SUMMER, FALL AND/ OR SPRING. Language of Medicine (Medical Terminology) Students Other CCP Students who plan on taking individualized on-line or after hours courses from UT, BG or Owens
CCP Application Procedure Mandatory Parent Meeting Create and COMPLETE SAFE ACCOUNT AND APPLY for FUNDING NO LATER than April 15 th Submit your Intent to Participate Form (NOW) NO LATER than April 1 st (No exceptions for late submissions) Apply to college (March 29 th @ 7:30 am) Take Accuplacer (if no ACT/ SAT scores) (March 29 th @ 3:05 @ NDA SRC) Register for classes (April 5 th @ 7:30 am) Complete On-line Orientation (April) Pick-up Textbooks (TBA) ODE SAFE ACCOUNT HELP DESK: 877.644.6338
Testing Criteria SAT ACT 18 or higher (English) 430 or higher (Writing) 22 or higher (Reading) 450 or higher (Critical 22 or higher (Math) Reading) 520 or higher (Math)
No ACT or SAT scores, then you MUST take the ACCUPLACER at NDA, UT or Owens • 88 or higher on Sentence Skills or • 5 or higher on Writeplacer • 80 subscore (English) • 55 CLM or higher (Math)
College-readiness determined by the COLLEGE, NOT NDA.

Why do students participate in College Credit Plus?
They want to take college courses to satisfy their high school graduation requirements. They complete high school graduation required classes and want to begin college work. They want to explore college and take a course in a subject that interests them.
Books and Fees Students attending a public college do not pay for either books or fees. Students attending a private college may have a cost that includes books and fees.
Student Covers Parking Expenses
If you fail the course or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it .
Weighted Grades College courses must be weighted equally to the greatest weight of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or honors classes, in the same subject area. AP, IB, College Honors Course Class
Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements The grade you earn in the college course can be applied to your high school graduation required class IF a Credit Flex request is completed and approved. Otherwise all CCP classes are transcripted credit only .
In SOME instances a semester college course of 3 or more credits counts as a one-year high school class.
College Credit Limits • You can earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; includes summer term. • No more than 120 college credit hour • Your SAFE ACCOUNT will tell you your specific credit eligibility in the Award Details tab.

How to Set-up Your SAFE ACCOUNT and APPLY for Funding • How to set-up a College Credit Plus SAFE ACCOUNT • How to apply for College Credit Plus (Chartered and Non-Public) Upload COLLEGE acceptance letter under the DOCS tab as soon as you are accepted to UT or Owens Application status must read “SUBMITTED” or your application is incomplete. Check SAFE ACCOUNT for CREDIT AWARD LETTER in April/ May and email Mrs. Desmond a copy Refer Back to CCP Application Procedure Slide to ensure that you have completed each step by the outlined deadlines.
