Slide 5 Leadership Is the art of change to create something better and the only tool we have is the  power of conversations and ideas to: Create context  Test and refine ideas – the greater the diversity of views the better  Enrol support – this includes breaking down barriers.  Secure resources   Deliver, drive and/or facilitate the change Learn and celebrate outcomes (even failures)  Therefore effective leaders require a wide range of skills – the most important  being an ability to conceptualise the opportunity, communicate, influence and persuade. Leaders also understand their own capabilities and create partnerships to cover  deficiencies

Slide 12 Leadership  29 Applicants – 16 selected  Cohort: 9 female 7 male Migrant, Disability, Disadvantaged, Indigenous  Program topics include: • Adaptive leadership • Leadership frameworks and tools • Leading change • Governance and finance • Presentations and public speaking • Developing teams and mentoring others • Reactive v creative leadership – The Leadership Circle • Psychometrics for insight • Over eight months, seven sessions held in each region with two overnight sessions. • Projects based on community issues.

The connections and capacity that this program will foster for the region is going to be immense. My thinking has already changed and I’m facing fears that I haven’t been able to face for a while.
