DISTRICT MATH COMMITTEE Meetings to discuss initiatives and gain input from all stakeholders. Mission Statement for Mathematics In alignment with the 4C’s (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration/Communication and Citizenship), the Hewlett Woodmere mathematics program will enable students to develop a curiosity for math, while exploring the multiple pathways in problem solving, in order to transfer their knowledge to real-world applications.

Woodmere Middle School students Hiral Chavre, Ibrahim Rasheed, Sasiru Pathirangage, Tahreem Chaudhry and Carrie Zheng all participated in the LI Math fair. Sasiru Pathirangage researched cryptography. He presented about how cryptography originated and the benefits of using it. Sasiru will be presenting at the final round at Hofstra on April 20th.
