Option 1  Maintain James Nisbet as a K-5 Dual Track English French Immersion School serving longstanding catchment areas south of Leila Avenue.  Open Templeton as a K-5 Dual Track English French Immersion School serving the area east of Pipeline Road and north of Leila Avenue and 388 Pipeline for English and Amber Trails and Ambergate for Immersion.

Option 1 Advantages  Least disruptive option.  Option where the most students can walk to school.  Reduces crowding at James Nisbet. Option 1 Disadvantages  Doesn’t reduce crowding at Leila North.  Challenging for staffing and budget.  Jeopardizes future capital projects.

Option 2 Advantages  Reduces crowding at James Nisbet, Leila North and A.E. Wright.  Convenient for English students in the James Nisbet catchment and for Immersion students in Amber Trails and Ambergate.  Positive for staffing, budget and future capital projects.  Strengthens Immersion program.  No transition to middle years for English students. Option 2 Disadvantages  Disruptive for French Immersion students and staff.  French Immersion students south of Leila and English students north of Leila require bussing.
