  10. 2018-19 School Readiness: Update for RPS School Boar 2018-19 School Readiness: Update for RPS School Board d Final Operations Update In addition to emergency maintenance (fixing/repairing chillers and ACs, addressing leaks, etc.,) we have completed: • Locks Locks – Upgraded security measures at Francis and Henderson. • Tree r ee removal emoval – Removed downed trees from Swansboro, Broad Rock, Munford, Cary, Green, and Fisher. • Bat Bathr hrooms ooms – Replaced 200 paper towel dispensers, 150 toilet paper dispensers, 150 soap dispensers, 260 faucets, 170 sinks, 20 stall doors, 200 stall locks, 3 toilets/urinals, and 100 ceiling tiles. Painted 41 bathrooms. This work will continue into the school year as we continue to make improvements in our bathrooms. • Various Structural Pr arious Structural Projects: ojects: • Replaced all windows (100) and doors (21) at Overby-Sheppard. • Completed the Fairfield Court and Westover Hills roof projects. • Installed two modular units at William Fox and assembled/delivered furniture for the units. • Completed the Huguenot gym project. • Replaced 40 window AC units in schools. • Replaced over 400 ballasts to improve lighting in schools. 10 Richmond Public Schools | September 4, 2018

  11. 2018-19 School Readiness: Update for RPS School Boar 2018-19 School Readiness: Update for RPS School Board d Final Training Updates • Division-wide pr Division-wide professional development for al ofessional development for all teachers, l l teachers, librarians and counselors ibrarians and counselors – – Teachers explored topics and learned skills essential to their grade levels/subjects, with many of our very own teachers and community partners leading the sessions. • AP T AP Trainings rainings – – All of our high schools have expanded their AP course offerings and enrollment is trending up. AP teachers attended trainings across the country over the summer. We also held an AP Meet & Greet for students and families where they met their teachers and learned more about keys to success in advanced placement courses. Finally, we are making plans to provide Saturday Study Sessions in the late fall/early spring to support students in preparation for success in the AP course and in earning a qualifying score that can provide them with college credit. 11 Richmond Public Schools | September 4, 2018
