According to the figures from the Mexican Institute of Social Securiy (IMSS), by the date of October 31st, 2017 there were 175,393 job positions registered in the state of Zacatecas. In the period from September 2016 to October 2017, there were 7,880 new jobs generated in the state, equivalent to a variation rate of 4.7%, in the mentioned period. The generation of formal employment in the state of Zacatecas during the month of October, was 1,691 job positions; for these ten months of 2017, 7,613 formal Jobs have been generated. In the period from September 30th, 2016 to October 31st, 2017; the increase in formal employment was motivated by the legislative and government activities, justice procurement; and international organizations, with 1,484 formal job positions. In second place, there is the Construction sector, with 1,320 Jobs generated; in third place, Services for Companies and Households, with 1,284 new job positions. 4

For the month of October, the 10 municipalities with the most number of workers insured by the IMSS, concentrating 152,780 insured workers, which represents 87.11% of this particular population, in contrast to the rest of the 48 municipalities, which account for only 12.89% of the insured workers in the state of Zacatecas. The Productive Sector with the largest contribution to the formal employment is the Transformation Industry, with 34,982 workers registered by the IMSS, in the state of Zacatecas. • The Industry of Transformation is positioned in the 4th place, contributing with 9.2% of the state GDP, and represents 34,982 formal job positions, which is equivalent in percentage to 19.9% and is the productive sector with more insured workers. • The Commerce sector contributes with 12.5% of the state GDP, positioning itself in the third place in terms of its contribution to this indicator, with 30,168 formal job positions, which represents 17.2%; and is therefore the fourth productive sector with more insured workers. 14
