2019 W 2019 WILD LDLI LIFE FE AREA PROJE JECTS • Volta WA Radial Gates Project (June-July): Replace galvanized corrugated steel sheeting, bottom support rails and bottom support arms. (DU) • Volta WA Field 10 Project: Bring Field 10 down to 2.5’ water elevation on the Cross Canal staff gauge in June to disc benches and set back the emergent vegetation, primarily tules and cattails. (CDFW, GWD, SLDMWA) • Repogle Water Measurement Flumes (June-August): Install 4 water measurement devices on Los Banos and Salt Slough WA. Flume will aid CDFW with reporting requirement for water use to multiple agencies. (CWA)
2019 W 2019 WILD LDLI LIFE FE AREA PROJE JECTS • Salt Slough WA Upland Restoration (June-September): Continue to disc, level and restore uplands taken over by invasive plants. (DU) • Wolfsen Road Resurfacing (June-August): Repair and repave road from HWY 165 to San Luis NWR Visitor Center. Visitor center’s parking lot will also be paved. Presley P Program i is Back! • $10 million in funding for the program as a result of Prop 68 passing last June (thank you GWD, CWA, and DU!) • Pays landowners $20/acre annually to manage seasonal wetlands and $60/acre ( New! ) to manage semi-perm/reverse-cycle wetlands in accordance w/ CDFW management agreement • Annual requirements depend on water availability for that year, but usually require fall flood by 12/1, staged March/April drawdown, spring/summer irrigations, summer (brood) water where applicable, and discing and weed control as necessary • Anticipate application window to be late-June through July 2019 • Contact Helen Swagerty @ 916-445-3561 or Brian Olson @ 916-445-3486 for more information on the program
